Good morning Year 2, I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and stayed safe at home. 

Assembly

Mrs Gracey and the nursery children have made an assembly for the school to share today.

Phonics

At school, we like playing Capital Letter Bingo. Have a play of the game with someone at home. 

1. Choose 3 capital letters and write them down. Keep them secret!

2. Ask a grown up to say the names of different capital letters

3. Circle a letter when it is said

4. Shout BINGO when all your letters are circled. 

5. Swap - the grown up can write 3 secret letters. You then say different capital letter names. Do you know the names for all of them?

Maths

First, can you name each of the shapes below? 

Then, can you see anything the same between any of the shapes? 




Also, which of these coins do you recognise? How much is each coin worth? How many of these coins do you have at home right now?

    The shapes are called square, circle, rectangle, triangle. The 3d are called pyramid, sphere, cube and a cuboid. The first one is 2d and the second one is 3d.

    The coins are worth 5p, 20p, 50p, 10p, 2p, 1p.

    I have seen the nearpod assembly and I talked about it with my mum.

    I played BINGO with my mum and I won once and she didn't win any time.

    The shapes are square, circle, rectangle and triangle. The 3d ones are pyramid, sphere, cube and a cuboid. The shapes are the same, but some are flat (2D) and the others are not (3D).

    The coins are worth 10p, 2p, 1p, 5p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2. At home, mum has 7 coins of 1p, 2 of 2ps, 4 of 5p, 2 of 10p, 2 of 20p and 2 of £1.

    Hi miss Healey very excited to comeback to school tomorrow and see everyone.
    I watched the Nearpd assembly with my mum and we talked how to keep our minds healthy.
    We played bingo me n mum and I won two times.

Good morning year 2,  It was so lovely to see some of your faces yesterday and pass on your packs. Remember to look after them and let me know if you need any extra help.  1. Today would normally be music day! So let's have a go at the body percussion videos we have tried out before... Easier ...   2. Check that you can log in to  times tables rockstars  and have a go at some activities. Your brown envelope has a sheet in with your login details!  3. You were all given learning logs with ideas for our new topic this half term, keep trying to complete one activity each week.  Lastly, you could have a go at practising your handwriting if you have time. Write each letter of the alphabet as a lower case and capital letter. Think about the size of letters and where they should sit on the lines.  I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
